Standard Internal Insulation / Dry Lining

Standard internal insulation involves fixing insulated plasterboard to the inside face (room side) of the external walls of the building.

Again, we can provide a complete package when carrying out a dry-lining project including removing existing plasterboard, window boards & skirting boards etc.

A new skim plaster finish is then applied, new or existing skirting boards and window boards are fitted, and the house is left clean & tidy after the works have been completed.

Attic insulation / Roof insulation

Attic insulation

Fibreglass insulation is rolled into the attic space between & across the joints.

300mm fibreglass insulation is the required amount to be installed in your attic area to conform to current building regulations.

An average un-insulated attic area represents 25% of the heat loss of your home. As a part of our attic insulation service we will install tank jackets on your water storage tanks, insulate all cold water pipes in your attic area and install insulated floor platforms to gain safe access from your access hatch to your water tanks. If you have an attic pull down stairs we can provide an insulated hood that will greatly reduce heat loss in this area.

Roof insulation / Dormer insulation

Insulation is fitted to the perimeter of a dormer area – ie low level walls, sloped ceilings and across the ceiling overhead.

Supply & Fit A Rated Windows

We supply and fit high security and high efficiency A rated windows and doors. All our windows and doors come with K Glass (low E) as standard.

K Glass allows heat from the Sun into the room, but stops it leaving by reflecting the heat back into the room.

Heating Upgrades

Older conventional boilers are often very costly to run and waste energy because some of the heat escapes up the flue/chimney. Modern high efficiency boilers capture more heat and cost less to run. In order to qualify for the SEAI grant of €560, the boiler must have an efficiency of more than 90% and you must also upgrade the heating controls, (see below).

Heating Control Upgrades

There is a grant of €400 available for upgrading of heating controls and by doing so you can save up to 20% on your energy bills. The minimum heating controls upgrades to qualify for the SEI grant are:

  • Two zones (space and water) with seven day programmer (time and temperature) control and boiler interlock, PLUS
  • Time and temperature control of electric immersion heater PLUS
  • Either one more zone control or three Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRV’s)

BER Assessment

From the 1st of January 2009 it is compulsory for all homes (existing and new) being sold or rented to have a BER Certificate.

A BER Assessment is mandatory if you are thinking of obtaining a SEAI Grant for upgrade work done. A €50 Grant that can be obtained towards the cost of the BER assessment.

Our specialised trained BER Assessors who are SEAI Registered will call to survey your home, give you advice on energy efficient solutions and provide you with a BER certificate.
